Hello from Joyint

- Joydev Team

We are Joydev GmbH, a small company based in Munich, and we are building Joyint - an ecosystem of terminal-native, Git-native productivity tools for developers.

Why we are building this

Developers spend a surprising amount of time outside their code. Tracking tasks in a browser tab, switching to a project board, updating status in one tool and context in another. These tools were not built for the way developers actually work. They were built for managers looking at dashboards.

We think developers deserve tools that respect their workflow, their data, and their autonomy. Tools that live where the code lives - in the terminal and in Git. Tools that store everything as plain text you own, not as rows in someone else's database.

What is available now

The first two CLIs are ready for use:

  • Joy - terminal-native product management. Epics, stories, tasks, milestones, dependencies, audit trails. Everything stored as YAML in your Git repo. Includes AI governance features for teams working with AI coding tools.
  • Jot - fast personal todos from the command line. Capture tasks instantly, stay in your flow.

Both are MIT-licensed and in beta. You can install them today from GitHub.

What is coming

The joyint.com platform will bring collaboration features on top of the CLI foundation - syncing, dashboards, and team views without replacing the terminal workflow. We are also working on Jon, a journaling CLI, and planning dedicated apps for mobile and desktop.

Built with itself

We use Joy and Jot to build Joy and Jot. Every feature, every bug fix, every release is tracked with the tools themselves. If something is annoying to use, we feel it immediately.

Try it out

Check out the Joy documentation or the Jot documentation to get started. The source code is on GitHub. We welcome contributions, bug reports, and feedback.

If you care about developer tools that stay out of your way, give it a try. We would love to hear what you think.
